High collagen density in the scalp is essential for healthy hair growth
The scalp is the foundation for building and nurturing hair. Collagen helps maintain hair follicle stem cells, which are vital for producing the cells that grow your hair. Collagen enhances three functions: hair growth, moisture retention, and barrier function.
α-EG, a 100% natural moisturizing ingredient derived from sake, has a small molecular weight of 208 and can penetrate into every corner of the stratum corneum of the skin, delivering lasting hydration.
In a test using a 50μ solution of α-EG applied to the arm for 2 minutes, moisture levels remained elevated for at least 4.5 hours after removal.

It’s long been observed that the skin of toji (master brewers) is remarkably beautiful. The secret behind this beautiful skin lies in α-EG (α-ethyl-D-glucoside), a naturally moisturizing ingredient unique to sake. Kanazawa MOYU set out to harness this effect in shampoos, collaborating with Professor Kenji Ozeki of Kanazawa Institute of Technology, a leading expert on α-EG.
Their research revealed that Ishikawa's local sake contains a larger amount of α-EG, and uncovered that α-EG has a moisturizing function. Professor Ozeki also succeeded in developing a method to boost α-EG production, leading to the birth of the BE WASH series..

Improves barrier function by balancing indigenous bacteria
The skin contains important bacteria called indigenous bacteria, and we have focused on skin beautifying bacteria in particular for their quick recovery and strength. Lactic acid bacteria help maintain the balance of indigenous bacteria and improve the barrier function. Sweat and sebum feed the indigenous bacteria living in the skin. In particular, the beneficial bacteria, Staphylococcus epidermidis, breaks down sebum and sweat into fatty acids and glycerin.
