Fusion of Kanazawa Tradition and Chemistry
MOYU’s products are derived from Japanese sake (Hakusan Kikusake*), which is produced using underground water from Mt. Hakusan, one of the three most famous mountains in Japan.
During research, it was discovered that the sake produced here is rich in the moisturizing ingredient α-EG, which led to the development of our products.
Kanazawa MOYU's products are created with the combination of traditional sake fermentation technology, which has been preserved for a long time, and lactic acid bacteria that balance the natural bacteria on the skin and enhance the skin's barrier function. Our products and philosophy are the heart of Kanazawa, which can only be achieved here in Kanazawa. We will continue sharing our passion from Kanazawa, hoping it touches your heart.

Treating the Scalp and Skin Condition
For two years, we conducted research on the moisturizing ingredient α-EG in an industry-academic collaboration between the local Shata Brewery and the Kanazawa Institute of Technology. It has been scientifically proven to increase the amount of collagen in the dermis layer of the skin. Blending α-EG in shampoos and other products keeps the scalp and skin in healthy condition.

As the saying goes, we are what we eat. Diet and intestinal environment are important keys to tackle aging and to improve physical condition, rather than treating hair loss, thinning hair, and rough skin as isolated problems.

We are committed both to people, and the planet. Since α-EG is an ingredient extracted from shochu residues (a byproduct of the sake-making process), it turns an industrial waste to a valuable resource. This allows us to increase the concentration of α-EG and reduce costs.
